Full-Time Chef in Menlo Park

We’re looking for an experienced Full-Time Chef for a busy UHNWI in Menlo Park. This position will work closely with the Executive Chef facilitating the preparation of nutritious and health-focused meals, designing menus, and ensuring the kitchen operations are running smoothly. The weekly schedule will remain subject to change by the Principal (no more than 5 days/week & max 3 meals/day).

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and serving meals

  • Preparing “ready to heat” meals

  • Assisting with dinner parties/events

  • Cleaning and organizing the kitchen

  • Stocking and maintaining the pantry at Principal’s residence and office

  • Traveling with Principal

Qualifications:

  • Culinary Arts degree or a min of 3 years of experience in 2/3 Star Michelin kitchens. Preference to those with 5+ years of experience in fine dining restaurants or a combination of restaurant and private chef experience

  • Must be open to working most holidays including Thanksgiving and New Year

  • Ability to create inventive, original, and also nutritious and balanced dishes on a regular basis

  • Ability to work under pressure with deadlines and changing priorities, maintaining a calm demeanor

  • Must have a keen understanding of food/kitchen sanitation and able to maintain a neat and safe kitchen

  • High-energy and ability to grasp new concepts quickly

  • Organized, efficient, punctual, reliable, creative

  • Ability to gracefully accept direct feedback

  • Must be able to handle very sensitive and highly confidential issues with diplomacy and discretion

  • Proactive, positive, and flexible team-player

  • Ability to provide on-call availability and responsiveness during non-business hours
